2 Time-Saving Apps Every Career Mom Needs

If you’re a career mom doing it all, you’ve got to hear this: I use 2 apps that, combined, probably save me around 1 to 2 hours a week! πŸ™Œ What could you do with an extra couple hours in your week?! #takebackyourtime

(Both apps are interchangeable, meaning, it's the concept of the app that is so epic and life-changing; implementing them as a system. If you find another, similar app, that suits you better and serves the same purpose, that’s great, too!)

The first one is called Remember the Milk. *Bonus: it has as an online version, too, that can be accessed from your computer.* This is essentially a list making app, but what’s great about it is that you can add collaborators / invite others to edit the list. We use this for our family grocery list.

It’s great to be able to add something to the list, anytime, anywhere, and not have to save space in your brain for those kinds of odds and ends (since it’s right on your phone, not on your fridge at home). But the biggie is: my hubby can edit the list, too, so it’s no longer JUST my responsibility to just remember everything everyone in our household needs from the grocery store. That’s a big win for me!

A list-making app that allows additional collaborators is a fantastic way to delegate a portion of that task (grocery shopping and keeping on top of what the household needs) to others.

Example: Did you use the last of the laundry soap, eat the last of the cereal, or run out of deodorant?

Don’t expect me to remember all that, put it on the list!

The second one is the one that will save you the most time, and be the biggest game-changer, if you’re always feeling like there is too much to be done and not enough time to do it. Introducing: grocery delivery – the Instacart app. *This also has an online platform you can access it from your computer.* Five stars! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I put off implementing this app (and grocery delivery) forever!  I had it downloaded for over a year before I actually even tried it. I was such a holdout – I am old skool, and just wanted to do it like I’ve always done it.

And mostly...I didn't want to have to learn something new!

If that sounds like you, friend, you've got to try it! You've got to try it at least 3 times before you decide if it's for you, and I think by then you'll be totally sold on the leverage it provides.

Once we committed to getting leverage with groceries, we chose the Instacart app, and signed up to become “Express” members. I highly recommend becoming an Express member! We paid right around a hundred bucks to become a member for a full year. We get free delivery within 2 hours…TWO FREAKING HOURS, FOLKS! Plus reduced service fees, and I believe a couple other perks.

Example: when we found out my sister's kids were coming to stay with us two weeks ago, it was the middle of a work day, and they were going to be arriving the very next day. Three extra boys, comin in hot, and I had to feed them! I jumped on the app, plugged in the things my sister told me they liked to eat, and BAMMM – delivered to my front door within two hours! No stress, no extra trips, no rearranging my schedule. Just 10 minutes on the app. πŸ‘Œ

The 2-hour delivery window is especially cool because, let’s say you realize at lunch time that you need something for your dinner tonight; no problem! No more slogging it out at the grocery story at 5:00 PM, an hour when the whole wide world, plus their mom and their dog, are all grocery shopping. πŸ˜’ That’s for sure the biggest perk of becoming an Express member, and I would look for that option (2 or 4-hour delivery window) when choosing an app. I didn't think I needed it...until I had it. And now...😍

Grocery delivery is seriously game-changing! As a former hold-out, I get dragging your feet, trust me, I do! BUT - I’m telling you, it’s time to give it a try! It’s amazing leverage, that you both need and deserve

That’s it – Remember the Milk (shared grocery list) and Instacart (grocery delivery)! That sweet little combo will give you back 1-2 hours/week that you can be spend conquering your projects, putting up your feet, or spending time with your family.

Send me a message and let me know – do you have any life changing apps we all need to know about?!
