That's Not How It Works: Defying Expectations to Pursue Big, Audacious Dreams

Truth: If everyone thinks your dream or plan is a good idea, you're probably playing small. Most people don’t think BIG things are possible for them, so they don’t think big things are possible for you, either. They can’t imagine a big, huge, audacious dream being realized right there, that close to them. 

Let me guess. No one laughed or scoffed when you said you were just going to stay stuck? No one balked when you said you were going to play it safe? No one raised an eyebrow when you said you were going to do life just like they're doing it? Right? 

But then, when you said you were miserable doing life like that, that you didn't want to do things the "normal" way anymore, that you wanted something different out of life, that you wanted bigger, better, MORE...

...they replied, “Well that’s just not how it works!”

Dare to go for things most people won't. Things that people will whisper about. Things that "they" will roll their eyes about. Things they might (probably will) laugh at. Things that will make people think, “Who does she think she is...?" 

Lots of people will say you're _______ (crazy, lazy, selfish, absurd, ungrateful, obsessed, overly-ambitious, and so many other little gems) if you're not willing to just do it, "the way it works." Dream on, Dreamer! YOU are capable of creating any life you're willing to go ALL IN on creating. That's how it actually works. And how amazing will it be when we're all out there accomplishing our big, scary dreams together, cheering for each other, celebrating with each other, and creating beautiful lives together?

"They" don't need to get it, girl. You don't have to convince anyone, or prove anything. Your wings already exist. Just go fly.
