How to get more of what you want in life β€” a lesson from my dog

When my dog wants a treat, he doesn’t pretend like he doesn’t.
He doesn’t wonder if he’s being too pushy.
He doesn’t spiral into self-doubt or question whether he’s “done enough” to earn it.

He just runs over to the closet where the treats are and barks.
Loudly. Confidently. Repeatedly.

Because he expects a treat.
And no part of him doubts he’s going to get one.
Usually, he’s right. He gets one.

But if we don’t give him one…
He doesn’t fall into an existential crisis.
He doesn’t decide he’s unworthy.
He doesn’t start splitting hairs like, “Maybe I earned half a treat, but not a whole one.”

He just tries again.
Maybe later, maybe right now.
Another time, another way, same energy.

To him, treats are available, so of course they’re available to him.
Period. End of story.

People who get what they want in life aren’t necessarily the smartest or most qualified, and they don’t always have the best strategy. They’re simply the ones who believe they can get what they want, and behave accordingly.

What would happen if you approached your life, goals, or business like my dog? (Probably your dog, too.)

What would you do differently if you expected the good things you want to be available to you—without second-guessing, shrinking, or apologizing for wanting them?

If there’s something you want MORE of in life (and if you’re here, there is)—more income, more freedom, more impact, more joy—start showing up MORE like my dog.

Ask for the thing.
Expect the thing.
Don’t make it mean anything if it takes a minute.
Try again if you need to.
As many times or ways as you need to.
That's the whole journey. 

Whatever you do, just don’t stop believing there are treats in the closet and that those treats are available to YOU
Then, show up accordingly.
